Ahhhh, musicals... not a fan. And I can't believe it took me until Day 4 to get a Tolkien reference in! Deplorable...
There's just something about folks breaking into song for no apparent reason to express emotions that could just as easily be related through ordinary speech that grates me.
So it was a toss up between just a couple of choices for my favourite musical, but in the end, The 1977 cartoon movie adaptation of The Hobbit won the day. I love that cartoon! The style is fantastic, with a real Arthur Rackham feel to it.
For those keeping score, the other musical that came close to winning was Jim Henson's Labyrinth. I did a bit of an homage to it years ago too...
